Honoring life transitions through connection with self, nature and community.

Rite of Passage for perimenopause and menopause

Why are Rites of Passage important?

Perimenopause and menopause are intense states of transition, physically, psychologically, and emotionally. Yet, these transitions are typically unmarked in our society, creating a silencing effect. Often in our youth-centric culture, they are seen as medical issues rather than life stages of development, disempowering those experiencing this stage of life.

This is why Rites of Passage are so beneficial. Rites of Passage processes honor and celebrate these changes. Through support, education, and connection, we can understand and embrace both the challenges and the powerful transformations during this stage of life.

Through embracing life’s transitions, we can open the door to the next stage of life with joy, love, and a deeper connection to our communities.

What does the process include?

The Rites of Passage process is six weeks, with an in-person kickoff meeting and an in-person rites celebration at the conclusion of the process. There will be weekly Zoom meetings, with the date and time based on the schedules of the participants.

Processes and formats are all flexible and based on the availability and needs of the participants.

Each week will have a theme that is centered in life’s changes. We will reflect on our lives and look forward to the next stage of life.

There will be some independent work and journaling in addition to the group work.

Nature awareness will also be an important part of the process, with participants having activities that incorporate being in the natural world.
